K. Hannah Kennedy

Hello there! My name is Hannah Kennedy (née Walls) and I am the ACPS School Psychologist, serving students in kindergarten through 12th grade. This is my third year with ACPS! I am a Nationally Certified School Psychologist and I have a Pupil Personnel Services License with an endorsement as a School Psychologist through the Virginia Department of Education. I received a Master of Arts and Specialist in School Psychology from Appalachian State University in May of 2020. Prior to that, I received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of North Carolina Asheville in December of 2016. I completed a 1200-hour internship in school psychology with Cleveland County Schools in North Carolina, where I completed psychoeducational evaluations, participated on various school leadership teams, assisted with multi-tiered system of supports implementation, provided consultative services to teachers and parents, led skill-building groups for elementary school students, provided counseling for anxiety and social skills for some individual students, and researched the impact of a school-wide social and emotional learning program. Before I became a school psychologist, I worked as a classroom instructor at a creative arts preschool and was an autism support professional for the Autism Society of North Carolina. In my free time, I enjoy reading (especially fantasy and young adult fiction), crocheting/knitting, drawing/painting, and spending time with my cats and loved ones. In addition, I am currently working on my Master of Science in Data Science and Analytics. I am so excited to be part of Team Amelia and will be conducting psychological evaluations, professional development, and consulting with teachers, parents, and administrators.
