Student Wellness

Wellness Committee

Community Involvement

The purpose of the Wellness Committee is to assess, plan, and implement nutrition and activities that will assist Amelia County Public Schools students, staff, and parents to be more aware, motivated, and skilled around life decisions to increase their own and other's well being. The committee's role is also to build a learning and workplace environment that is supportive of living a healthy lifestyle. This committee puts forward suggested policies to help support student and employee health and wellness. The committee essentially acts as the voice of all staff to cultivate an organizational culture of healthy living. Although the committee will not provide students and staff with treatments, it can encourage the use of USDA healthy eating recommendations and a comprehensive school physical activity program.

The committee would love to partner with parents and community members.  If you are passionate about the health of ACPS students and staff, we would love to have you participate on the ACPS Wellness Committee.  During the 2022-2023 school year, the committee will be meeting quarterly on the third Thursday of August, November, February, and May at 3:45pm in the School Board Office Conference Room.
