Special Education Advisory Committee is Seeking Additional Members

Amelia County Public Schools is looking for additional members to serve on the Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC). The purpose of the committee is to advise the school division in the education of children with disabilities and participate in developing priorities for meeting the needs of students with disabilities in the division. Committee meetings are held four times a year and are open to the public. If you are a parent of a child with a disability or an individual with a disability, reach out to Dr. Jan Medley, Director of Student Services at 804-561-2621 for an application. Special Education Advisory Committee Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, September 30, 2021 at 3:30 p.m. in the conference room of the ACPS School Board Office.  The address is 8701 Otterburn Road, Suite 101, Amelia, VA  23002.  The agenda will include a guest presentation from Renee Soniat, Clinical Coordinator at the Center for Family Involvement at VCU, a discussion of member recruitment, updates on school reopening, and a public comment period.  Questions related to the SEAC Committee should be directed to Dr. Jan Medley, Director of Student Services at 804-561-2621 or
