This November 3rd, voters in Amelia County and across Virginia will consider whether to authorize an additional 1% local sales tax to support eligible school construction projects. Revenue generated from a 1% local sales tax could be used only for eligible school capital projects--not salaries or daily operating expenses. Food purchased for home consumption and essential personal hygiene products would not be subject to the additional tax. Voters will make the final decision on November 3rd.
